Amsterdam rocks!!! I'm so tired, me and my mum went to Amsterdam on Wednesday after a 3 hours delay because of the plane that crashed down (we were supposed to be the plane who arrived right after the Turkish Airline) but our flight had to be cancelled and we had to wait 3 hours on the Airport of Frankfurt. Amsterdam is such an amazing city and Chris was worth the stress!! The show was soooooooo awesome, but i felt like i was the only one who was enjoying it, a few people right next to me stood there like a stone. And a lot of people next to me left the show while Chris was still playing. I have no idea what's going on in their minds.

The venue was awesome, it supposed to be for 1000 ppl and at the entry there was a sign SOLD OUT!! I am not sure if there really were 1000 ppl in it! The show start had a delay of 30 mins. then finally Chris and his band showed up on stage, he did the whole Scream album of course and then five more songs from the past. The show lasts from 9pm until nearly 11pm. I loved all of his new stuff, it was really awesome to hear this all live and great to dance to it :) One thing which disturbed me already the last time as I saw him two years ago in Amsterdam, that some ppl go to a show and stand there in circles and do small talk instead of listening to the songs. They better should let the tix for fans who appreciate to watch his show. Anyway, some in the audience enjoyed all of his new stuff and jumped up and down and some seemed to be annoyed...which I cannot understand, coz everywhere was written that he will do the promotion for his upcoming album. Some even didnt know that it WAS his new album which he presented there. HUH?! Anyway, we had fun and enjoyed every single song he did, that was just amazing. :) The merchandise sucked somehow....they only offered two different styles of T-Shirts, thats it! No caps, keyholder or something like this.

I flew over to see the concert in Amsterdam with a mate from Germany. He's a bigger Cornell fan than me, but that was mainly due to ignorance on my part. Now, I thought he gave a good show in Amsterdam, however the crowd were savage. I didnt think they appreciated Cornell at all. The gig in London was huge, and CC was warmly received and played a massive set list stretching 2 hours. And I understand hes going in new directions and the old skool fans dont like it, but ffs man, at least hes brave enough to do it! Hes clearly a massive talent and i think its good hes experimenting, rather than churning out the same old tracks and becoming a boring artist living on past glories. In summary then, if CC is playing, the crowd should welcome him. How is seeing him for 30 euros or 30 pounds (As I payed the 2nd gig) not worth it? Chris was great at both venues and the problem lies with those who were there and not Chris.

I don't know....... First Chris showed a lot of guts to play new music in an conservative audience. I think only 20 people max know the new songs. Officialy the new cd is not released so it's difficult to listen to new songs. Not only new songs also a new style. A loth of people did think: what the fuck, what is happening here. Most of the new Scream songs sounds ok and more rock than on the cd. But it's strange that they use a tape for background vocals. The band was kind of play backing. I am sure: the band of Chris don't like this music. They play for the money and for the experience. Deep in their heart they are pure rock musicians. After Scream they went crazy and enthusiastic to play old material. I have the same feeling. But to play only older songs is also not a good idea. It's difficult for the right (music) direction. Also the style of Scream songs mixed with older songs is not an option. Too different!! So I have mixed feelings about this concert. I like some songs of Scream: never far away, enemy. All good songs! And his voice was good. Still I don't know. Also I miss the good times with Audioslave. Tom, Tim and Brad have much more personality than the band of Chris. But I am realistic, it's the past....

For me it was the first time I saw him live.Love him for his "old " music, but I knew he was going to do the new stuff. Allthough I didn't love everything of the Scream set, I think it's a good thing and ,well, lets say a challenge, that he tries something new. I can imagine he 'd like to do something different and so I really think we ought to give it the chance for development. Who knows? Maybe we were standing at the cradle of a new age of rock! I was very anxious ,wether he could still do his amazing screams...He did not dissapoint me at all, shivers all over my back when he hit the high notes(and otherwise). Very rude of people who threw beercups and were booing.... Next time? I hope soon!

Cool concert. I read there wasn't going to be an encore, hoped there would be but then quickly realised it all passed waaaay too quick. I DO like Scream a lot buuut sadly the bandmembers seemed to overplay Chris. I saw him adjusting his volume constantly... which was too bad. Fun band though, seemed like a good couple of fellows having fun, doing what they love (including Chris). Didn't notice anyone leaving, then again I was focussing on the band. Oh and I was kinda hoping for more merch than 2 shirts... Something like the new album but alas. All in all, great evening that ended way too early!

I wish more artist's had the guts to try something new musically. In an age where music has become stale, and people afraid to change, it is thoroughly refreshing to see an artist who follows his heart and remains so passionate about his work...I've been listening to CC since Soundgarden and although I knew and loved the old music, I certainly didn't expect him to continue in the same vein. Artists, like all people, grow and change; that is just part of life...Where would we be without change? Granted, some people may not like the new album, but surely everyone can appreciate the need or desire for change on his part....On my part, I'd like to give a huge thank you to the whole band for a wonderful experience...K.

I liked the show. There was no pre-show band..although there had to be. So we waited two hours before the show started..that was not so funny. We stood front row and the sound there was not so good..the view was. I heard from a very reliable sours that Chris is playing the Pinkpop festival this year. So....yeah we can hear more and see less there. I didn't like all the new stuff, but I guess it has to grow on you. My boyfriend didn't hear any of the new songs beforehand and he found them somewhat borring. (He is a great drummer by the way..) He commented Jason on his creativity during the samples. It is a very good band so Chris can praise himself lucky with these guys.

On average: Great show! I have been listening to Scream for a few weeks now, and must say I like most of it. I have been enjoying Chris' music since the early 1990's and I typically listen to grunge and metal. HOWEVER, this record grows on you (at least, on me). I think Scream will turn out as revolutionairy as Temple of THe Dog. Time will tell. I liked the show, with exception of the samples (you either play with a band, or with a DJ), and the fact they did not do an encore.

whoa, I gotta say, I'm kinda mixed up about this... I went to the Amsterdam gig also (standing in front, hearing nothing) and I gotta say: it wasn't that bad. Scream is a departure from the stuff he used to do, but it's still great to hear him sing, no mather what. -okay, the moment he starts doing songs from the sound of music I'll take that back- but anyway, the scream-part was ok. the crowd went nuts at the older stuff, and then they went even more nuts when he and the band didnt came back for encores. and that kinda bugs me: if you see the setlist they did in berlin, it was much longer and much better. (getaway car!) so either paradiso is to blame for making him play a short gig, or for some reason he didn't feel like doing encores. if that's the case, he could have at least told us he wasnt coming back because he felt ill or something. we waited 2 hours before they finally came on stage (in the two hours we watched the roadies tune all guitars six times and change the colour of the lights...) time better spent on maing sure the sound was mixed better, 'cause on the first 4 or 5 songs, we couldnt hear him at all, and after that just very softly... so like said, it was kinda mixed up. my first time seeing him live, definetly going again when he comes back, but please, make sure the guy who mixes the sound makes sure you can hear the man sing in every part of the room ;) hmm, sounds like I didn't enjot myself wich is absolutelty not true, i had a nice evening. scream sounds good.

Finally.......here are some pro photos of the show from Paul Bergen.
