photo by rafael hoyos - see more here Argentina's Personal Fest music festival takes place at the Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires - a cross-genre all-night programme of international bands and DJs playing rock, pop, funk and dance music. Chris headlined the second night and delivered a stunning show, which was much appreciated by Argentinian fans who made a special thread on Chris's official forum just to thank him for coming. The crowd sang all the words to Like A Stone and the band came back on for the encore wearing the festival's trademark silly wigs.
Let Me Drown- Outshined - Show Me How To Live - You Know My Name - No Such Thing - Be Yourself Hunger Strike - Spoonman - Like a Stone - Cochise - Arms around your love - Black hole sun - What you are - Rusty Cage - Can´t Change Me - Slaves & Bulldozers/Whole Lotta Love/The End/Bela Lugosi's Dead/4th July.
by cmatov It was killer!! The whole band was in great shape and sounded crystal clear, save for the beginning of Let Me Drown as Chris´voice and Jason´s drums were too high and drowned (lol) both Yogi and Peter. It was quickly corrected, though. Chris´voice was in its highest quality, he reached the highest notes without strain. And even though the show wasn´t that long (1.45h, if i miscalculated someone please correct me) we at least got to hear one acoustic version of Like A Stone, with a singalong last chorus that seemed to shock even Chris himself. After that the guys came out for the encores, wearing coloured wigs that were the theme for the whole fest (PS Spanish speakers: VOlATE LA PELUCA!!!). They seemed to be having a real good time, with the whole pick throwing thing during Jason´s drum solo, and even the guitar tech (that skinny short haired guy) came out to play Yogi´s guitar during Slaves and Bulldozers. It was an awesome show and i can´t wait for these guys to come back!!!!
photo by rafael hoyos - see more here by nofazio The show was cool. There were like 8000 people by the time Cornell played. There was a lot of space available though. Anyway I was up front when the Happy Mondays played their show. Funny, especially when Bez fell down. CC began with an intro then "Let Me Drown","Outshined" and "Hunger Strike" was a thrilling moment. When they played "Rusty cage" you just couldn't stay in the moshpit. It was huge. "Slaves & Bulldozers" was just flawless, I think he sang a little bit of "Bela Lugosi's dead" before 4th of July, and the aftershow was really funny.
thanks to cynthia for the photo by juan Oh man, what a show... I went nuts when they played 4th of July because I wasn't expecting it and it's one of my fave songs of Soundgarden. Thank you guys for coming, you played an amazing concert, I hope you come back soon. My only complaint is that the show was too short... I wanted they to play all night. Please come back soon. Thank you for one of the best nights of my life.

- Sergio Dobkevicius, Perfil.com Lady Marques of Chris Cornell's South American fansite wrote... 12.08.07, Buenos Aires, Argentina: It was the very first time Chris played for the south american public and didn't let anybody down. Even the fact that it's a festival where you know the set will be shorter, the audience went crazy, sang along all the time, as Peter Thorn wrote on the forum "Argentina rocks, it was a blast". I'm pretty sure that the fans were very excited too and they can't wait to have Chris and guys back again. "It took me twenty years to get here 'cause the other guys didn't want to come but I came with some friends. Thanks for waiting", said Chris to the people that just couldn't wait no more to see their biggest idol in action. A day after the gig, all I read all over the internet was "it was the best day of my life" or "the best concert I've ever been to". [thanks for translating Lady] ...and after the show, Chris's guitarist Pete Thorn took the trouble to write... Hey it's Pete Thorn - I just wanted to be the 1st to say after the gig that Argentina ROCKS- the show here was a blast and the crowd was just awesome, so thanks for making us feel so welcome! I have a special attatchment to this place, I spent time here touring with Draco Rosa four years ago, and am very happy to have made it back! People in South America are al heart and soul, I love that... rock on.
