by marshall williams Standing In 6'4 and weighting 160 pounds soaking wet is the man who has seen it all, Chris Cornell. The show was amazing. Any doubters about him losing his voice are crazy. His voice was just as good as ever. They played "Say Hello 2 Heaven" by a fan's poster request, and he pulled off all the high notes at the end. Peter Frampton even came out during Black Hole Sun and the final song of the night, a 12 minute jam on Slaves and Bulldozers/Whole Lotta Love. Cornell even told the audience where the name for the song Slaves and Bulldozers came from. Cornell said "I was with a friend and we were watching his son at recess one day, and he was chasing all the girls around the monkey bars and swing sets, and I asked what is the name of this game and he said Slaves and Bulldozers." The set list was very good and consisted of 25 songs. They played for over 2 hours and 15 mins. I was even fortunate enough to catch Chris Cornell's towel when he was coming back on stage and catch the drummer's drum stick. I guess that is what happens when you are on the second row. I even got to touch Cornell's hand, at least now Ican say I have touched greatness. by curtisbush It was quite a treat to enjoy Chris's show at an otherwise country music venue in downtown Nashville, the Wildhorse Saloon. The 1st act, Earl Greyhound, was compelling, passionate, funky and rockin'. Chris's voice was excellent - I don't know how he pulls it off show after show, with the range he uses, but he is Chris Cornell. Then, what a fantatic treat to witness Peter Frampton, icon of rock that he is, performing with Chris onstage as a surprise guest. From that point on, it was definitely a show no one will forget, at least, I won't! Thank you to everyone who made that show possible. We need all the rock and roll help we can get here in Nashville!
