by rache13 I saw Chris and the guys last night in Perth. He was amazing. He was the special guest at the Linkin Park gig (which I wasn't that interested in). I have been dying to see him for a long time. He was everything I expected and more live. Thanks Chris for making the trip Down Under. by prosserd I went to see both of the bands, Cornell + Linkin Park. On the whole I reckon Chris + band rocked better than Linkin Park. It was a bit embarrassing for the LP fans that the opening act rocked better than the main act. Too bad the LP crowd was so under appreciative, but that is always the case with being a support act. Chris' band was excellent drummers and guitarists were superb. Whoever they are... Jesus Chris Pose went off :) Awesome. by bangers mcmullen I saw Chris Cornell on Thursday night. This made me a very happy man. Although I wasn't happy about the price I had to pay for the pleasure. He was supporting Linkin Park. So crap. Why isn't he headlining? Ah well, he was great. He played a few Soundgarden and Audioslave songs plus one of his solo songs. About what I expected considering he was playing to mainly Linkin Park fans. Some of the songs he played were Spoonman, Jesus Christ Pose, Black Hole Sun, Rusty Cage, Be Yourself, Like A Stone and You Know My Name. There were a couple others that I can't remember the names of. I didn't even stay for Linkin Park. Missing the traffic was good. Now I just gotta see Scott Weiland. Then I can die happy. Perth Now During a generous one hour set former Soundgarden and Audioslave front man Chris Cornell looked for all the world like a man whom the world has passed by. The gruff blues rock edge of the grunge pioneer was intact, as he and his four piece band invoked the days when UK bands like Led Zeppelin and Free ruled the world. Cornell was something of a personality free zone, but it was great to hear Black Hole Sun, Rusty Cage and Jesus Christ Pose once again in at least some of their glory. - Read Polly Coufos's review of the whole show here
