29 April 2007 The UK version of Carry On (released May 28) apparently has two extra tracks not on the US version - Today and Roads We Choose. In addition to those two, the Japanese version is showing the live acoustic cover of Led Zeppelin's Thank You as performed at Stockholm's O Baren on September 7 2006 (thanks beenawhile and CTGolden). 27 April 2007 More chances for fans to win a place for yourself and a guest at a meet-and-greet! If you're going to the May shows at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix or the House of Blues in Las Vegas, go along to this website NOW (the competition only runs for 24 hours) and enter your details. Winners will be chosen randomly from all those who apply. 25 April 2007 Chris did an interview and acoustic session with Peter at 94.5 The Buzz in Houston today. He played Doesn't Remind Me, Can't Change Me, No Such Thing, Like A Stone and Black Hole Sun. Photos here, and you can listen to the whole thing (or download as a podcast) here (thanks Andrew). Tiny snippets of video are also on YouTube here. Chris will be playing his first-ever show in Greece on June 29 at the Rockwave Festival in Athens, second on the bill to headliner Robert Plant. Wouldn't it be nice if those two great voices took it into their heads to give us a duet... 24 April 2007 One to scribble on the calendar. Chris will be playing a live session for BBC6's The Hub radio show with Gideon Coe - it willl go out on 16 May between 10am and 1 pm (thanks Ian). Video and photos from the sessions is usually available afterwards on the show's website. 23 April 2007 Another notable gig with tickets already on sale: Chris will be playing KJEE's Seaside Beach Ball in Ventura, California on June 8, along with Queens of the Stone Age, Sum 41, The Bravery, and more. See tour page for ticket links (thanks Tony Clifton) Intriguing news: we could soon be seeing Chris as a 70s rock star. According to a new MTV interview, (thanks PJfreak) the video for Arms Around Your Love features Chris with his backing band, performing live on what's supposed to be "a German television show during the late '70s." Time to revisit Rockpalast? 22 April 2007 Friday's session at WMMR in Philadelphia turned out to be quite an event. Chris was interviewed at length and played four songs in front of 75 local fans. He played Like A Stone, Can't Change Me, No Such Thing, and Black Hole Sun. According to one fan, "he also told a ton of great stories about his motorcycle crash, his songwriting process, about how Hunger Strike was the last song added to the Temple of the Dog album, living in Paris and about why he chose to cover Billie Jean". The interview and songs will be on WMMR at 12 noon Eastern time on Monday 23 April. (thanks Solat13) PS: The session is now streaming here. Details of a Japanese version of carry on are available at eil.com (thanks Future Dwight). The track listing appears different to the one already released. A song called Hover seems to replace Scar On The Sky. Either it's a track substituion for the Japanese version, or Chris has made a late change to the name of the song. However, the artwork up at amazon.co.uk for the European version (see below) has "Scar On The Sky".
21 April 2007 There are two great podcasts to download at radio station site 941 Free FM in Philadelphia, featuring an excellent interview with Chris. Photos, too. (thanks Mel) Chris's official street team is recruiting now! If you haven't already joined, and are ready to "meet fellow fanatics, promote Chris' music, and get some special perks from the Cornell camp", send your info to cornell_street_team@yahoo.com Put "JOIN" in the subject line of your mail and include your name and location - city/state/zip in the US, city/province/postal code in Canada, or city/country for the rest of the world. New album carry on is now available to pre-order from Amazon.com with a release date of June 5 (thanks FutureDwight), or if you're in Europe, from Amazon.co.uk with an earlier release date of May 28. There is no track listing up as yet but from the cover artwork available on the site, it appears that some titles have been tweaked - Silence the Voices is now Silence and Ghost is Ghosts.
20 April 2007 Chris has added a new theatre date in the UK in the summer - it's on June 27 at the Carling Academy in Glasgow. Worth adding to the news section because tickets are onsale NOW from Seetickets or Ticketmaster!! (thanks Jamie) At the show at Boston's Avalon Ballroom last night, Chris premiered another new song from carry on, Ghost. The encores included Slaves & Bulldozers, which apparently included a great drum solo from Jason Sutter. (thanks Matt D.) 19 April 2007 After some downtime due to a technical fault, Front Row Center's official photos from the Chicago Metro show are now back up here. Prints and a limited number of autographed items are for sale. 18 April 2007 There's a lot of extra pictures and other material relating to Chris's Nissan Live Sets video session for Yahoo! Chris is on Fuse TV today, from 3pm - 4pm PST on a show called "The Sauce". (thanks seafud) 15 April 2007 Video from the Toronto MuchMoreMusic performance is up here, but although the interviews are accessible anywhere, you're more than likely to get the following message if you try to watch the music segments: "Sorry! You're Not In Canada. Some of our content is restricted to users in Canada only. Blame the lawyers!!! " Thanks Much - we will.14 April 2007 The splendid Nissan Live Sets performance at Yahoo! Music is now online here (thanks Corey). But there's a catch if you live outside the USA. A stern corporate voice will warn you that "the content you are trying to view is only available in certain areas". Fascinating facts: the web was invented by a non-American and conceived as a free global medium. And were Chris at home in Paris right now, he wouldn't be able to watch his own performance on Yahoo! Fortunately, there are other places to watch things (thanks Shantasa) but it's a shame that when Chris has been making every effort to make himself and his music widely accessible, pointless rules like this can still enforce geographical limitations, even on the net. Nice one, Yahoo! There are pictures from yesterday's live performance at Canada's MuchMoreMusic up here (thanks Mel) with video to come. There are also some clips from his interview and performance, plus a short article, at Toronto's CityNews site. Chris says: he's not feeling superstitious about the release of his 13th career album, but adds "I'm somewhat pessimistic so I err on the side of caution...but anybody around long enough to have 13, is lucky, it's great."
He and his band played: Spoonman - No Such Thing - Arms Around Your Love - Black Hole Sun - Hunger Strike Chris also gave an interview and answered questions from the crowd. (thanks Stéphane) Chris is to shoot a video for Arms Around Your Love over two days in New York City. Details here. (Thanks NothingToSay). Caswell Coggins, who recently did the spooky video for Dolores O'Riordan's Ordinary Day, is directing. Arms Around Your Love is the lead-off UK single from carry on, released on May 21. 11 April 2007 Issue 3 of the UK's small-press Libertine Magazine (strapline Liberating Language: Poetry and Lyrics) has all sorts of stuff including a new and possibly controversial piece by the owner of this site on why Chris Cornell writes like a metaphysical poet. There's also an interview with that terrific old maverick and friend-of-Zeppelin Roy Harper, so it's well worth a read. You can pick up a copy at sundry UK independent bookshops, or order online. The cancelled show at La Cigale in Paris on 15 May has in fact only been moved to another venue. It will now be at Showcase, Pont Alexandre III. Tickets go onsale soon - watch the tour page for how to order online. (thanks Stéphane) Chris will be at Canada's MuchMoreMusic for an exclusive interview and performance on Friday, April 13 at 7pm ET, with other CC-related programmes beginning at 5 pm before the performance. Watch MuchMoreMusic today - Wednesday April 11 - from 6-8pm ET for a chance to win tickets to the event. See this link and read the news release for full details (thanks Rohit11) 10 April 2007 As well as the Q101 session reported yesterday, Chris also played a WXRT private afternoon show today at Schuba's Tavern in Chicago. (thanks Vera). The setlist was apparently... (thanks Matt)

(thanks BurningFlame) 9 April 2007 Front Row Center has been officially confirmed as the exclusive commercial photographer for the tour. A professional photographer will be shooting the April 11 concert at the Metro in Chicago, and the photos will be available for sale exclusively on Front Row Center soon after. Archival prints will be available in 11"X14" and 8"X10" sizes, as will a limited quantity of mats autographed by Chris Cornell. Visit Front Row Center now to sign up for an e-mail notification when the photos are available for sale. (thanks Bill) Chris will be on Chicago radio station Q101 tomorrow between 9am-10am (The Morning Fix) for another in-studio live performance. According to the station, he'll be performing songs from Soundgarden, Audioslave and from carry on. (thanks PJfreak) Chris's live performance on the Henry Rollins Show will air in the US on the IFC channel on Friday, 11 May at 11.00pm EDT. (thanks Future Dwight and Diandra). And further to yesterday's news - Chris did indeed play Zero Chance at his first full-length show at First Avenue, Minneapolis. So far he seems to be keeping songs from the new album under wraps pre-release, though, with only Poison Eye and the cover of Billie Jean added to the songs we've already heard (Arms Around Your Love and No Such Thing). See links to fan videos on the tour page. 8 April 2007 Chris apparently told some fans at the Las Vegas meet & greet that Soundgarden's Zero Chance might be a feature of future shows (thanks bloodsugarcrazy and MyndRiot). 7 April 2007 A video has surfaced of Chris playing No Such Thing live acoustic on the back patio at the X107.5 Xtreme Rock Radio studios in Las Vegas, probably yesterday (thanks Sludge Factory) Chris's tour kicked off last night at the open-air Las Vegas Grand Prix Street Party. Word on the, well, streets says his set included his cover of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean and Soundgarden classic Jesus Christ Pose. Reviews and photos to follow on the tour page...meanwhile, here's a photo of Chris with his wife Vicky at the Grand Prix Charity Gala held at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas on 4 April (thanks Warriorwoman). A bunch of Chris's fans from Australia and New Zealand have just started an online petition to try to persuade him to book some dates Down Under on this tour. They haven't had a visit since Audioslave played some shows there in 2003! Anyone can sign up, so get over there and show the Aussies and Kiwis some support (thanks Mel) 5 April 2007 Chris was at KOMP radio in Las Vegas today, playing some acoustic songs and giving an interview. There are some pictures and a video of Chris and one of his new guitarists doing Black Hole Sun acoustic here (thanks PJfreak and CTGolden). According to the website of Parisian venue La Cigale, Chris's previously advertised show there on 15 May has been cancelled. Watch this page for news as to whether this is a genuine cancellation, or a switch to another venue (thanks Stéphane). It looks like Chris performed on the Henry Rollins Show, as there's a photo up at his MySpace page! (thanks Mel). Apparently this was recorded on 3 April, but if anyone hears when it's to be screened, let me know!
Good news for those of us in Blighty. The UK release date for carry on has been brought forward to May 28, and Arms Around Your Love will be the first UK single, released May 21. Reports are coming in from those who attended the taping of Chris's live show for Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music last night in Los Angeles - apparently the show was great. Send your reviews, and I'll put them up on the site.
4 April 2007

See entry for 27 March in last months's news for an account of what he heard! He also mentions in his diary for today that he's "been playing the new Chris Cornell cd, I figured out it'd work in my car stereo. Safe And Sound and Arms Around Your Love are good. In fact it's all good, you need to play it a bit to get into it." (Thanks Mel and Ali) You can also listen to Chris playing live with his new band at KROQ a few days ago - go here for streaming audio. 2 April 2007 From the official website: "Chris has secured 5 pairs of tickets for his upcoming performance on Yahoo! music and wants to give them to his die-hard fans! The Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music Chris Cornell event will be this coming Wednesday at 6PM at a West Los Angeles studio (details to be announced).
