25 June 2008 According to guitarist Yogi Lonich, Chris and the band are now in rehearsal in preparation for the new US tour. On a recent website entry, he says: "[Chris Cornell's] 3rd solo record was produced by Timbaland and we start rehearsals today. Exciting! We're touring for 6 weeks in the States with Linkin Park and the Bravery on the Projekt Revolution Tour starting July 16th." Yogi's own band Run through The Desert also has a show at Spaceland in Los Angeles on Friday 27 June. Meanwhile RTD member Jason Sutter has also been keeping busy with a regular Saturday gig at The Green Door in LA. According to this LA Times report, the house band features "names like Jason Sutter...and special guests such as Macy Gray, who sang with the band two weeks ago."
22 June 2008 Chris Cornell says he may well debut some material from his new album when he plays live with Linkin Park's eclectic Projekt Revolution tour this summer. In an interview at VH-1, he says: "The idea of playing some new material is good...not every day is the same for me. Sometimes an audience feels different, so for me it requires a couple of different songs. You never know." He also describes his approach to creating a set list. "I sort of decide on the moment what the set list will be and sometimes even when we're onstage — it depends. The funny part is when I'll forget. There will be a song that everybody loves that everyone expected to hear, and I forgot that song existed."
As well as playing Projekt Revolution, Chris is scheduled to play headline dates on 6 August in Las Vegas and 13 August in Council Bluffs, Iowa. See tour page for details.
