However, you can't see it if you live in the UK. Work that one out! 19 May 2007 The video for Arms Around Your Love is available to watch here (thanks partyofone). If you can;t make that work (it needs fast broadband) try YouTube (thanks Felverick). There is now a wealth of new photos of Chris and the band at Ross Halfin's site - taken in Paris and London this past week. According to Ross, there's a major feature in the pipeline to be published in Britain's Mojo magazine, so keep your eyes open for that. 18 May 2007 I'll be adding a whole lot of news today (also see entries for 16-17 May) because I'm catching up after my London trip. Carry On has leaked a week-and a-half before release after the NME winners at the Astoria show won free copies. Those who want links will find them, but this site won't publicise them. Those who have any respect for Chris or his music will still go ahead and buy the album on release. Those who don't can have the pleasure of knowing they don't deserve it!! At some point between midnight tonight and 9 am tomorrow, Australia's Rage TV will be showing the video for Arms Around Your Love (thanks Mel) 17 May 2007 Not so much news as a quick update. I'm just back from my trip to London to see Chris at the Astoria, so the site fell a little behind there for a couple of days - will be back up to speed shortly with some new material and a few surprises!! 16 May 2007 Chris has given the press some further comments about the breakup of Audioslave. "Singer Chris Cornell recently told MTV.com that his days of being in a band were over and he was prepared to spend the rest of his career as a solo artist following his departure from Audioslave earlier this spring. Although AUDIOSLAVE guitarist Tom Morello recently said that he never officially heard from Cornell that he was leaving the group, the singer told Launch that he did make his intentions clear. "Tom and I did have communications about the fact that I was gonna go make a record, and that I was tired of what ended up seeming like political negotiations toward how we were gonna do AUDIOSLAVE business and getting nowhere with it," he said. "We had back and forths about that, and we also as a band sat in a room with other people trying to work this out on numerous occasions, and it wasn't really happening." Cornell added that the process of "doing AUDIOSLAVE business" led him to go solo. "I still will always say that everybody did their best, I think, to try to come to some sort of an agreement, but it literally did sort of turn into these, like, negotiations, you know, almost like you're negotiating a contract with a record company, something like that," he said. "I can make my own records and I don't have to do that with myself." (thanks Blabbermouth) Chris will be playing on the penultimate day of the marathon Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary in August - staged over eight days on Obuda Island in the middle of the Danube. See tour page for a link to the festival site. 14 May 2007 Anyone who didn't win the chance to attend a meet & greet at the London show at the Astoria on May 16th can get a second opportunity by heading over to the NME and entering this competition - it closes tomorrow, May 15, so hurry (thanks Allison) Chris will appear on American TV show Jimmy Kimmel on Friday, June 8 with an outdoor mini-concert happening in Los Angeles on Thursday June 7 - request tickets here (over 16 with valid photo ID). More info here. (thanks CTGolden) 12 May 2007 Last night Chris was honoured at a charity concert and dinner in Los Angeles in aid of the MusiCares MAP Fund. Alice Cooper presented him with an award for his charity work with recovering addicts and Chris and his band gave a special live performance, playing Be Yourself, Safe and Sound, Billie Jean, You Know My Name and Black Hole Sun (thanks Scarlet and Mel).
Chris with Alice Cooper and wife Vicky, courtesy WireImage An article published by Billboard/Reuters confirms that the current tour will last for 18 months. Chris is quoted as saying: ""I don't really care so much about the PA being good or if the power turns off in the middle of the show, because you're playing on the southern tip of Italy or somewhere in Southeast Asia," he said. "I just want to be in that environment." Perhaps a couple of tips there as to future stops on the tour? 11 May 2007 The European meet and greet was announced early this morning on the news page of Chris's official site. Here's the lowdown on what to do: "European fans, win a chance to meet Chris Cornell! Chris is giving 5 lucky fans in each city of his upcoming European Tour a chance to come out and catch his show. Those going to the Glasgow Academy show on June 27 - it wasn't included in the current list of shows, and neither were the European festival dates - but watch this space for news. 9 May 2007 You can watch last night's live webcast from the Fenix in Seattle at this address. And a pat on the back to MSN for making this available internationally! 8 May 2007 A performance of Black Hole Sun from Chris's appearance on The Henry Rollins Show - plus a collection of interview snippets - is available to stream from this page. You can also see the performance of No Such Thing, introduced by Henry, on Youtube (thanks templeoftrouble). The soundtrack for the forthcoming William Friedkin movie Bug does not contain Chris's song Disappearing Act, according to antimusic.com and the track listing at Amazon. The song plays over the closing credits of the movie and features Chris solo acoustic. A case of waiting for the DVD, then! A video for No Such Thing is available to stream or download here or at Youtube here although it currently seems to be missing its final moments. The video is directed by Fernando Apodaca who also made Pearl Jam's video for Life Wasted (thanks tigerfaerie). Meanwhile, She'll Never Be Your Man (currently streaming at Chris's MySpace) has been selected as the follow-up to No Such Thing as the next US single (thanks Joe). 6 May 2007 The UK single of Arms Around Your Love is now up for pre-order at Amazon.co.uk and via other sites as an import - and it has the Led Zeppelin cover Thank You on the B-side (thanks Marco). 5 May 2007 More on the private concert in Seattle on May 8.
