29 May 2008 Chris Cornell appears in a brief cameo role in OneRepublic's new video for their single Say (All I Need). As Ryan Tedder explains in this article, "We have a little cameo in the video: Chris Cornell shows up in the first few frames...we shot it in the old section of Paris....we wanted to make a piece of art and do something beautiful and inspiring." (thanks Terri) You can see the video on YouTube. Cornell fans have already heard Ryan Tedder's remix of a song from Carry On, Arms Around Your Love, which you can hear at his MySpace.
Here's an article (in Spanish) called In the Court Of The New King Midas about Chris's new producer Timbaland - and there's an English translation by Dru in the forum at Chris's official site (thanks Dru). Handy for those who don't know much about him and would like to know more. Incidentally, major Russian star Dima Bilan recently won the Eurovision song contest with his own song Believe which was produced by Timbaland, and Madonna's latest album Hard Candy, which he co-produced, debuted at #1 in 27 countries. The Midas touch, indeed.
17 May 2008 The live band have been keeping busy while Chris has been in the studio. Drummer Jason Sutter and bassist Corey McCormick are playing some live dates with the band Vertical Horizon in June & July while they wait for the Projekt Revolution tour to begin. And don't forget Yogi's solo career and his band projects, Black Robot and Run Through The Desert (with Corey & Jason) which have both been in the studio recently!
13 May 2008 Don't forget - Projekt Revolution shows in Wantagh NY, Holmdel NJ and Houston TX will be going on sale this Saturday, May 17 at 10am (local time) at www.ticketmaster.com and www.livenation.com. See tour page for more details of all Projekt Revolution shows.
According to Blabbermouth, busy guitarist Yogi Lonich has formed another band - this time with former Buckcherry members Jonathon Brightman (bass), and Devon Glenn (drums). It's called Black Robot and went into the studio last month to record an album which is expected to be released this summer. Also included in the lineup are Huck Johns and Dave Cobb. Their musical influences are said to be AC/DC, The Black Crowes and Led Zeppelin. Yogi is already a member of Run Through The Desert with fellow Chris Cornell band members Corey McCormick and Jason Sutter - not to mention his own solo shows and working with Chris when he's on the road.
