Chris is auctioning four meet-and-greet packages for shows in Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City and Reno on on the upcoming US leg of his tour. successful bidders will get tickets to see Chris Cornell perform live, receive a signed copy of Carry On, and meet Chris at the show! The money raised will go to children's charity Five Acres, which works to prevent child abuse through treatment and education in community-based and residential programmes. Want to see Chris and his wife Vicky having a pillow fight with a journalist? Check out what looks like an uproarious interview from the Turkish press, together with a beautiful set of photos. If anyone speaks Turkish and is willing to translate into English - please do get in touch!

In more sober contrast, here's my own interview with guitarist Yogi in an autumnally grey Birmingham. No pillow fights I'm afraid, but we did have a nice chat before the recent show at the city's Academy.

Here's an interesting insight for all of you filming shows on your phones and putting them up on YouTube - Chris is plainly interested. In their music news for today, The Rock 106.9 WCCC report that "it’s a new music world and Chris Cornell is adjusting. The singer says where it was once an awkward experience having shows filmed, he’s now liberated by the YouTube generation. Cornell says that in the early days, the idea that a show might be filmed usually meant a self-conscious performance would occur. But in today’s culture, with cell phone cameras at almost every gig, that nervousness is going right out the window. The vocalist tells us he’ll even perform rare tracks at impromptu times with the idea of knowing a camera might be around so he can check out later how it comes across live."

Chris has announced two solo headlining shows in Australia directly after the arena dates with Linkin Park in October. He will play at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on 24th and the Forum Theatre in Melbourne on 25th. See tour page for ticket details. (thanks Timbzy)
